The space
Casa Cocco is a charming one-bedroom home tucked into the historic center of Pienza, just steps away from the little streets, shops, cafés and restaurants that make village life here so special.
The apartment has been completely refurbished and includes a bedroom, a living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom, and its own private terrace – a little outdoor space to enjoy a slow breakfast in the morning, a glass of wine in the evening, or simply unwind after a day of exploring.
Inside, antique details and romantic touches give the apartment plenty of character, while high-quality bed linen, carefully chosen bathroom products, and all the comforts you need make it an easy place to settle into.
Casa Cocco is designed primarily for two guests, but can accommodate a third person using the sofa bed in the living area. When fully opened, the sofa bed does take up a significant amount of space in the open-plan living room and kitchen, so we generally recommend the apartment most for couples or two people traveling together.
The neighborhood
Casa Cocco puts you right in the heart of Pienza – and, quite literally, in the heart of the Val d’Orcia.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Tuscany’s most beautiful Renaissance towns, Pienza is small enough to explore entirely on foot and full of the kind of everyday details that make it so easy to fall in love with: tiny streets opening onto views across the valley, local shops filled with Pecorino di Pienza, cafés where the same people meet every morning, and restaurants just a few steps from your front door.
And we may be a little biased, but apparently we’re not the only ones who think it’s special: National Geographic has called Pienza “the most beautiful town in Italy.”
Pienza is breathtaking, of course, but what we love most is that it’s still a living town. Once the day visitors have left and the streets become quiet again, there’s something particularly special about having it almost to yourself – heading out for dinner without taking the car, going for an evening walk through the empty streets, or stepping outside early in the morning while the village is just waking up.
And when you do want to explore further, you’re perfectly placed for it. Montepulciano, Montalcino, San Quirico d’Orcia, Bagno Vignoni, so many other hilltop towns and the countryside in between are all within easy reach, making Pienza an ideal base for discovering the Val d’Orcia and beyond.
